Cindy has lived and worked in the metro area for the last 26 years and moved to Lexington with her husband and two children fifteen years ago. With a degree in mechanical engineering from UC Santa Barbara, she spent almost 20 years working in engineering and software development, including many years working up from engineer to engineering director at Voice Over IP startup, Acme Packet.
A Big Sister mentor for young girls in the area since 2004, Cindy first became involved in the Lexington community through the Bowman and Clarke PTO boards. She engaged with other caregivers to create and expand the PTO Green Teams, prioritized good communication, and showed commitment and leadership, including serving as Co-President for Clarke PTO.
She continued to use her engineering, organization, leadership and analytical skills to make a bigger impact in her own community and beyond, by volunteering for AARP and Minuteman Senior Services, to provide money management and tax preparation for seniors in need.
Her passion has become creating sustainable, resilient, healthy communities in addition to looking out for our most vulnerable. She has spent the past five years working with advocacy groups, town government staff and committees, other municipalities, and state legislators to increase adoption of renewable energy generation and fossil fuel free building, to lower utility costs for residents, and to lower decarbonization costs for housing providers.
When she’s got a minute, she loves reading, dancing (Lexington Community Education Zumba classes are fantastic!), trying new foods, and more recently, attending LHS Track and Field meets.
